Autumn War
Activities are Numerous!
On behalf of the Barony of Blatha An Oir, we would
like to welcome you to what is sure to be a WONDERFUL event, as we host
King Tiernan Mor Del Cais and Queen Miranda Faoltiarna overseeing the
squabbles between the Principality of Tir Righ’s Ban-Tanist Katherine Atte-Moure
and the Principality of the Summits’ Princess Sumayya min Yibna. This
year, it’s all aboot the chocolate!!!
There will be plenty for those of the marshal
persuasion to do while they are here, including the Company of the
Shattered Lance’s 3rd Annual torchlight pas d’ armes tournament,
war
scenarios GALORE designed by Clan Carn, and all the stick you can handle.
When you’re not watching the war fighting, perhaps you can learn how to
make fire-polish beads, tunics or even socks! There are a number of
different classes that are scheduled this weekend at the Arts and Sciences
pavilion, including the memorial Hati Longtooth woodworking competition.
Maybe you’d like to participate in the siege cooking contest, try your
hand at target archery, or even
throw weapons during the legendary
Rus
Run! Possibly the Iron Needle contest will get you going! Don’t think
we’ve forgotten about the little ones…the
Karl Redstone memorial
tournament is back! There is plenty for everyone to do here at Autumn War!
How about sampling the nightlife? Will you go see the
Ignition Fire Troupe
doing their thing, or join in the merrymaking of the many gatherings that
are scheduled for this weekend? What about the
Deepwater Keep Bardic
Contest on Friday night, or the ‘Ye Olde Style Bardic Circle’ on Saturday
night? Let yourself be immersed in this wonderful culture we have created
here.
Don’t forget one of the biggest joys of being at Autumn War: Volunteering!
It takes many people to make this event run, and the more
volunteers we
can muster the more we can make this event better for EVERYONE. Not to
mention you’ll make new friends (or re-acquaint with old ones) doing work
that really is more play than anything!
One more thing: If you see someone doing event work, don’t hesitate to say
‘thank you’ to them. Let them know their efforts are in fact being
appreciated.
In service to the Crown,
Baron Sir Aleksii Konstantinovich Chernoi and Baroness Elspeth nic Grath
