Baron Aleksii Konstantinovich Chernoi and Baroness Elspeth nic Grath
Sept XLII - Present
The Third Baroness of Blatha an Oir
Baroness Anne Fraser of BearsHaven
Sept AS XXXVI - Sept XLII
Anne is an independent noble woman from the early 1300's. She is the only child of a Scots father and an English mother. Married to a Lord who is an active member of Edward III military campaigns she spends most of her time running the family estate of BearsHaven in southern Cornwall though she travels to her husband's other estates regularly to make sure that all is in good working order.
Anne's first loves are dachshunds, dance and archery. And in the evening music can often be heard coming from the great hall as she indulges her passion. On any warm day at some time Anne can usually be found out at the archery range perfecting her skills which in her mind are severely lacking. But always with one of her loyal pack of dachshunds at her heals.
Anne has been actively playing the "game" since she was a teenager having found the SCA through the Southern California Renaissance Faire in Caid. Later she moved north to the Barony of Tarnmist and north again to the Barony of Darkwood and then once again to the Barony of Vinhold in the Principality of the Mists, Kingdom of the West. During her years in the West she developed a tradition of service with the Constables and Heralds. In AS XXVI she made her final northward move to finally find a permanent home in the Barony of Blatha An Oir.
Years of service in the Constabulary have earned Anne a Silver Grape leaf from the Barony of Vinhold and a Leaf of Merit from the Kingdom of the West. In addition, she is also very proud of her Golden Blossom and Briar from Baroness Isabeau and her Goutte de Sange from Queen Laurellen.

The Second Baroness of Blatha an Oir
Baroness Isabeau de Lis Noire
Jan AS XXVIII - August as XXXVI
Isabeau is mid 1150-ish Norman Sicilian with Byzantine connections from her mother's side of the family. She is married but her husband fell in with the Knights Templar and hasn't been home in years. She still sends him money to facilitate his staying in the Holy Land. Her income is from family salt production in Brittany and horse farms in England. She has merchant connections via Venice.
Recently Isabeau discovered that she has a Moorish half-brother, Baron Yusef. It is a interesting and plausible story. Her father and mother left her in Sicily while they went to the Crusades. Her father was killed and her mother never heard from. As it turns out, Baron Yusef's father rescued her mother from some frightful situation following the death of her husband.
Isabeau is fond of books and is a general patroness of the arts. She is handy with a needle and rides fair enough. Her luck at dice is abysmal. She also has a fondness for historical theme parties and tries to dress to suit the occasion.
She is, By the Grace of the Sable Lion, Dame of the Most Noble Order of the Laurel, Member of the Right Noble Orders of the Goutte de Sange and the Jambe de Lion, Holder of an Award of Arms, Holder of The King's Favor and two Queen's Forget-me-not, Companion of the Orders of the Briar and of the Panther's Torch, Holder of the Award of the Golden Blossom, Patron of The Corps of Engineers, Holder of The Cloak of a Few Too Many colors, and a Member of The Order of The Sable Spade.

Baron Yusef Ja'Bar al Timbuktuwwi el qalot
January AS XXIX - August AS XXXVI
Yusef is a late 12th century man who, at the age of 12, was sent to live with his uncle because of the unstable political situation in Andalusia. His uncle was an emissary to the Susu Court in Timbuktu. Yusef attended the military academy with other Mandinka boys. He volunteered to be a caravan guard for the salt and gold caravans going North.
Yusef has yearned to find the whereabouts of his father, who was a unit commander of a mercenary unit in the employment of Nur al Din. He also spent much time looking for a fabled half-sister in the hands of the Normans in Sicily. They were finally reunited a few years ago when he realized he was guarding her caravan.
All forms of Middle Eastern dance are one of Yusef's passions as well as poetry, song and storytelling. He enjoys archery, chess and European dance as well.
He is a holder of an Award of Arms, Companion of the Order of the Briar, Holder of the Golden Blossom, the Order of the Eye of the Eagle, the Order of the Solar Phoenix, Guardian of the Saguaro, and a Companion of the Order of the Sable Chevronels.
The Fourth Baron of Blatha an Oir
Baron Artimis de Montessori
January AS XXVI - January AS XXVIII
The Third Baron of Blatha an Oir
Baron Cairbre macc Eochada micc Fedelmid
June AS XXIV - January AS XXVI
Cairbre, son of Eochaid, grandson of Fielimid, great-grandson of Diarmuid was born in the year of the world, 5257. (The Christos will eventually decide that it was something like "263 AD")
Eochaid was a hosteler (bruighid) and maintained holdings both private and of the hostelry (bruidean) near the confluence of the Siur and Nire rivers. (Near the present day town of Ballymacarbry)
Now heading into his 40th year, Cairbre has lost most interest in maintaining the bruidean and the responsibilities of bruighid (all that pesky neutrality). After some personal time spent as a sword-for-hire in the service of a number of the local and Provincial chieftains, he's now working on his own holdings, learning to fish, learning to like the taste of fish, sharpening his sword and spear and looking for a random passing Roman who's not fast enough to keep his armor and war kit.
The Second Baron of Blatha an Oir
Baron Joseph de Gonneville
October AS XXII - October AS XXIII
Josef de Gonneville was born in the area now known as the Alsace in the Year of Our Lord 1285. Son of a minor noble he entered the service of Geoffrey de Gonneville, Preceptor of Aquitaine and Portieres of the Order of the Poor Knights of the Temple (Templars). He became a Serjeant at Arms as a Templar and spent ten years on Rhodes and in the Holy Land defending the remaining Christian strongholds. In 1310 King Phillip (referred to as "The Fair") launched his inquisition against the order. Forced to flee Josef arrived in Scotland which was under a Papal Ban and not required to participate against the Templars. While serving under the Scottish King (Robert the Bruce) he met and wed a beautiful red-haired Irish lass named Aliena of Ierne. Returning to his native home at the death of his father, Josef and his bride live happily ever after.
The Founding Baroness of Blatha an Oir
Baroness Rowen O'Ceallachain of Muscraidhe
July AS XVIII - October AS XXII
Rowan O'Callaghan of Muskerry [full formal 3 generation Irish name: Ruadgan ni Barrionn ni Seanan mac Lubhraid ui Ceallachain o Muscraid - is a 5th century Irish noble [605-607 AD, to be more precise] living in a small village in the south-western part of Ireland known as Muscraige [Muskerry is near what is the city of Cork today in County Kerry] see map at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~irlkik/ihm/ire600.htm Also, this is a wonderful site for Irish history on the whole.
She runs a small village that concentrates on weaving and dyeing that her mother left her [under Brehon law, she could inherit from either or both sides of her family and hold land in her own right]. She's been doing this for some time now. The village trades yarn, woven fabric and trim and dye-stuffs for what it can't supply on it's own. They also trade medicinal herbs and such on occasion. As any member of a village who lives on trade, she has had to take up the sword in defense of life and home and has done so with some success But, she's also been known to wound just as deeply with words. ["It is said that the two sharpest things in the Kingdom are a Chirurgeon's knife and a Bard's tongue... don't push it!" Rowan, AS 'Rocks-Were 'Soft'] She's also been a bit busy, on and off, in local politics as she is a direct descendent of the Callaghan clan through her father's side and held local lands not only in her own name but jointly with a man descended from the family of Diamuid, Cairbre Mac Eochaid Mac Fiedlimid Diamuid.
The Founding Baron of Blatha an Oir
Baron Micheil MacGhillebrath of Dunmaglas
July AS XVIII - August AS XXI
Micheil was born in 1375 at Dunmaglas of a typical Highland family and lived until 1450 (though he is definitely still with us). The family chose to take up trading using the Court of Inverness as base. Micheil's first contact with traders outside the highlands was with Norsemen. trade was then expanded down the coast of the continent and into the Mediterranean Sea to join the Eastern trade Route. The connections increased his knowledge and resources as well as trade. His interests and talents include culinary arts, vinting, jewelry making and merchanting. He has held almost every office in the original shire as well as being the founding Baron. As Baron, his fealty is directly to the crown of An Tir but he also affirms his duty to the people of the barony.
